Friday, June 12th- We had an incredibly adventurous time in Chiang Dao, where we planned many activities for our work here at the children's home in Fang. All 75 of the children lined the gravel drive to welcome us on our arrival. They stitched together Jasmine flowers for a necklace for each of us- these are called the "mama" flowers- we will be their mums for the next 2 weeks. I could hardly speak and my daughter Rachel was also so moved by their love and warm welcome !!

Saturday, June 13th- We are here at Kids' Life Asia in Fang!! The children have grown up so much- they are as beautiful and as joyful as ever! I feel that I am at home here amongst family. We visited a Hmong tribal village yesterday and taught the kids a new worship song in English last night! What a delight to hear their voices singing the Father's praise once again. We also viewed a documentary on other hill tribes, Yao and Lisu.

Sunday, June 14th- Kids' Life Ministry here in Thailand holds a very special place in my heart. The children's joy, their singing, their excitement to learn, and even their desire to serve others continues to challenge me.
Today we went to a Lahu hilltribe village after our own services, and the children readily helped us prepare for this outreach by packing up over 100 bags full of health items, school tools, stickers, treats, food and faith literature to pass out among the village.
We have our first full week scheduled out and I hope to share many more mission moments with you all in the coming days! We truly appreciate your prayers!

Exciting News! Last night, we killed a 6-7 inch spider in our sleeping quarters AND tonight Proban (the Dorm Dad for the boys) found a young King Cobra on the front part of the campus! So please continue to remember our safety in your prayers!

I hope to add photos on my next trip to the Internet station!

Blessings,

Ruthie :-)
